Exploring Cilia Dynamics

Software Development

Investigating Cilia Morphology in 3D

Accurately measuring cilia morphology highly benefits from 3-dimensional imaging, requiring sophisticated algorithms to retrieve ciliary measurements from microscopy images. In the FOR5547 research unit, we work on developing algorithms to accurately analyze ciliary morphology in cell culture and tissue samples.  Within the FOR5547 research unit, we mainly rely on Java-, Python-, and Matlab-based approaches. CiliaQ

CiliaQ is an open-source Fiji/ImageJ Plugin for automated quantification of cilia in microscopy images. It allows detection, segmentation, and measurement of ciliary features such as length, orientation, intensity, and morphology.  Its goal is to provide accurate, high-throughput cilia analysis while being user-friendly and compatible with common image processing workflows.

CiliaQ Explorer

CiliaQ Explorer is a Python-based analysis pipeline for automated processing of CiliaQ derived data. The software employs statistical analysis, Quality Control, and automated plotting on CiliaQ-derived data. CiliaQ Explorer aims to provide additional reproducibility, exploratory analysis and quality control within the CiliaQ workflow.
